Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, the contemporary urban hotel located in the heart of Dubai, welcomes the creative who’ll join its Fourth Artist in Residence programme, in collaboration with World Art Dubai (WAD) for the first time.

With a focus on supporting emerging female artists from around the world, The Artist in Residence programme at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel offers a unique opportunity for artists to seek inspiration at the urban retreat with its stunning views over Dubai Creek. Artists selected for the programme reside at the hotel for three months, allowing them to make a muse of the city's rich cultural tapestry and create bespoke pieces of art that reflect their unique perspectives and experiences.

Toma Stenko from Georgia known for her powerful and evocative works that explore the intricacies of love, was chosen following a collaboration between Jumeirah Creekside Hotel and the 2023 edition of WAD in March. She arrived at the 292-key hotel in October 2023 to take up the fourth annual artist’s residency.

Her time there will culminate in a captivating exhibition from 7 – 28 December 2023, where visitors can experience her trademark kaleidoscope of colour and emotion and unique style of large-scale pieces that balance movement and stillness, offering viewers a glimpse into the invisible and the infinite.

Seth Benzel, Programme Director, said: "Jumeirah Creekside Hotel is excited to announce our partnership with World Art Dubai for the 2023 artist-in-residence programme. Toma Stenko was selected from hundreds of artists at the World Art Dubai based on the artwork she displayed at this year's fair. This dynamic approach to our art residency programme connects local and international artists through enriched fair programmes that support the thriving ecosystem of artists here in Dubai. Jumeirah Creekside Hotel looks forward to future partnerships that further connect artists with the local community, expanding the reach and impact of our programme."

Launched in April 2021, the Artist in Residency Programme is an ongoing initiative at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel to support international and regional artists in advancing their skills through dedicated spaces, enhanced visibility and endorsement, while providing an inspirational setting from which to create unique pieces of art and enjoy living in one of the most diverse cities in the world.

At the end of their residency, the artist will be able to exhibit their work in a contemporary collection that includes nearly 500 pieces and keep updated on social at @jumeirahcreeksidehotel @toma_stenko @worldartdubai @8thavegallery
