Fashion Kid

Phoenix Art Group | Stand : KB07 and LA04

This painting is called "Fashion Kid”. Overall, this painting is a protest against fast fashion or fashion that harms, turning the world into a waste bin of fabrics and clothes with mass production and low quality. This huge industry still exists because there is no one willing to stand up against these fashion giants. Even children are used in this industry, doing such hard work for minimal pay. This painting has a circular design symbolizing the recycling cycle. If you pay attention to the frame on the painting, three words are written: Reuse, Recycle, Reduce. The artist was inspired by the scene of a runway show where a model in the middle of the painting is wearing a skirt with a pattern of the Earth. On both sides, there are spectators who are indifferent to all the problems in the fashion world, only focusing on the model. A child worker is behind the sewing wheel. To draw attention to the sewing wheel, the artist embroidered with beads on the painting. The net added to the work is to beautify the painting and somehow indicate the mass production of fabrics and clothes. Lastly, the hanging thread from the sewing wheel is meant to continue and point out environmental pollution.
